We are located at
50690 Trans Canada Hwy, Boston Bar BC
Over seas visitors can reach us flying into:
Vancouver (YVR) 2:30
Abbotsford (YXX) 1:30
Kamloops (YKA) 2:39
Kelowna (YLW) 3:30

From Vancouver, Hwy 1 is the most direct route with Hwy 7 being a slower option.
Hwy 1 will head east from Vancouver to Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Hope before entering the Canyon.
About 15 min east of Chilliwack on Hwy 1, I prefer to exit into Aggassiz on Hwy 9 to take and continue North on Hwy 7. This route is straighter and has less traffic. Hwy 7 will by-pass Hope to enter the Canyon back on Hwy 1.
Geography South Canyon (south of the ranch)
Enter the canyon south from Hope and you will find yourself in a land of wonder with high reaching mountain walls. During the wet season you will see the mountain cliffs cry with trains of rushing tears. Distance from canyon entrance (Hope) to Rough Canyon Ranch (Canyon Alpine) is about 70km, 66km to Boston Bar.
The canyon is full of micro climates. The weather may change at every turn flipping from sun to rain and even snow in the winter. With climate changes, this road has become more unpredictable. In the fall and winter, be prepared for sudden closures due to mud slides and avalanches. In the summer, fires can suddenly interrupt your travels. Be prepared for heat to 40+ degree celcius in the summer and cold to -37 degree celcius in the winter; cool clothes in the summer; rain gear in the shoulder seasons; warm clothes and boots in the winter.

Boston Bar is another 10km north of Hell’s Gate. You will pass China Bar, a tunnel about 1 mile long. Boston Bar offer fuel and basic food items. For groceries, one would have to drive back to Hope.
About 5km north of Boston Bar you will reach the hamlet of Canyon Alpine. Rough Canyon Ranch is on the north end of the campground, motel and restaurant. Pay attention to the pull out to the motel just after the passing lanes begin and as your curve left around the rock quarry. Continue to the end of this side road.

About Us
Hi, I’m Seren. I love our farm and I love the outdoors. The best days are when I may play at the creek, climb trees, roll around in the sand and soil, ride my horse and swing my cat buttercup around while carrying him upside down.
